Job Summary:
The School Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves monitoring school premises, controlling access, preventing unauthorized entry, and responding to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and patrol school premises regularly to ensure safety and security
Control access at entry and exit points (gates)
Check identification of visitors and ensure proper sign-in procedures
Prevent unauthorized persons from entering school premises
Maintain order during school hours, events, and activities
Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, or suspicious activities
Report security incidents, hazards, or breaches to school management
Ensure school property is protected against theft, vandalism, and damage
Assist in managing student movement when necessary (e.g., arrival and dismissal)
Keep daily logs of activities and incidents
Support enforcement of school rules and regulations
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum of Junior High School (JHS) or Senior High School (SHS) certificate
Proven experience as a security guard (school experience is an advantage)
Physically fit and alert
Good observation and communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
High level of integrity and professionalism
Basic knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
Working Conditions:
May require working shifts (including early mornings or late evenings)
Outdoor and indoor work environment
Standing and walking for extended periods
