Job Summary
The Head of Education is responsible for leading the academic and educational strategy of the institution or organization. The role involves curriculum oversight, teacher supervision, academic quality assurance, policy implementation, staff development, learner performance improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to ensure high educational standards, innovation in teaching and learning, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Develop and implement the institution’s academic vision and educational strategy.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
Supervise curriculum planning, development, and delivery.
Monitor academic performance and implement improvement initiatives.
Promote innovation and excellence in instructional methods.
Staff Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and evaluate teaching and academic staff.
Organize training, workshops, and professional development programs.
Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching support.
Foster a positive and collaborative learning culture.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with educational policies, standards, and regulations.
Oversee internal academic audits and quality assurance systems.
Maintain accurate academic records and reporting structures.
Ensure adherence to accreditation requirements where applicable.
Student Development & Welfare
Support initiatives that promote student discipline, welfare, and holistic development.
Address academic and behavioral concerns where necessary.
Encourage inclusive and learner-centered educational practices.
Strategic Planning & Administration
Participate in institutional strategic planning and budgeting.
Develop educational policies, procedures, and operational frameworks.
Analyze educational data and prepare management reports.
Drive educational growth, partnerships, and institutional development initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with parents, regulatory bodies, partners, and external stakeholders.
Represent the institution at educational forums, conferences, and meetings.
Support admissions, marketing, and community engagement activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum Studies, or related field.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related discipline is required.
Professional certifications in educational management are an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in educational leadership or academic management.
Proven experience managing academic teams and educational programs.
Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance is preferred.
