Reports To: Sales Director
The Sector Sales Lead is a senior operational and commercial professional
responsible for managing all business functions within an assigned geographic
zone or territory. This role encompasses marketing and sales leadership,
overseeing last mile sales activities for biomass cookstoves, field sales agent,
organizing community activations, overseeing digitization of sales of biomass
cookstoves and key customer data for carbon monitoring operations, and
ensuring effective repayment collection. The Sector Sales Lead serves as the
primary point of contact for all zone-related matters and is accountable for
achieving business targets while maintaining operational excellence and
customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing & Sales Leadership
● Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and sales strategies for
the assigned zone.
● Set and monitor performance KPIs for sales agents and supervisors across the
territory.
● Identify high-potential rural and peri-urban markets, organized groups,
cooperatives, and institutional buyers.
● Coordinate community activations, market storms, demonstrations, and
experiential marketing campaigns.
● Drive customer acquisition initiatives focused on rural households, traders,
farmers, and low-income communities.
● Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective
actions.
● Recruit, onboard, train, and coach field sales agents and supervisors on
product positioning and objection handling.
● Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, customer feedback, and
market opportunities to improve sales performance.
Field Operations Management
● Oversee proper distribution and deployment of cookstoves across all
assigned districts.
● Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient field
execution and stock movement.
● Conduct field assessments and community engagement activities where
necessary.
● Monitor customer experience, product adoption, and field execution
quality.
● Address operational and field challenges promptly and implement
corrective measures.
● Maintain accurate field records, customer onboarding documentation,
and deployment reports.
● Ensure customers receive proper product education, usage guidance, and
after-sales support.
● Track stock movement and maintain accurate distribution and inventory
records.
● Resolve distribution-related customer concerns in a timely manner
● Maintain complete digital records and carbon compliance
documentation.
Client Relationship Management
● Build strong relationships with community leaders, cooperatives, sales
outlets, institutions, and end users.
● Conduct regular field visits and stakeholder engagement meetings.
● Serve as the primary regional contact for sales and distribution operations.
● Address customer concerns professionally and ensure high service
standards.
● Implement customer retention and referral initiatives.
● Identify institutional and bulk sales opportunities.
● Maintain accurate customer records within CRM and sales applications.
● Ensure excellent customer engagement standards across all interactions.
